
International shooter killed in Maharashtra crash, speeding SUV crushed by truck

The accident occurred on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad National Highway when the victim's speeding Toyota Fortuner rammed a truck from behind. The impact was so severe that the SUV was completely mangled.
International shooter Sambhaji Shivaji Patil (27) died on the spot in a road accident in Maharashtra’s Palghar district while travelling from Pune to Gujarat, police said on Tuesday.
The crash occurred on the Mumbai–Ahmedabad National Highway when a speeding Toyota Fortuner rammed a truck from behind. The impact was so severe that the SUV was completely mangled, leaving Patil with fatal injuries.
Patil’s co-passenger, Yash Prashant Choudhary (22), sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. His condition is reported to be critical.
Police said a probe has been launched to ascertain the exact cause of the accident, including the speed of the vehicle and whether negligence was involved.
