Accused of operating an international drugs cartel, Kishan Singh has been extradited to India to face charges of supplying illegal drugs. The 38-year-old British citizen of Rajasthani origin was handed over by the Metropolitan Police Extradition Unit to officials from India and arrived in New Delhi on Sunday.
It was a special Sunday for the Special Cell of Delhi Police as they brought back Kishan Singh, the mastermind of an international drug syndicate, from the United Kingdom. Kishan Singh was extradited to India to face charges of supplying illegal drugs, a move Britain's Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said Monday signifies the "high level of cooperation" between the two countries. Following over two years of legal processes, Kishan Singh’s case marks the second successful extradition from the UK to India, after alleged cricket match-fixing scandal bookie Sanjeev Chawla was extradited from London in February last year.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
