
Inspired by personal tragedy, 87-yr-old Covid sells pickles to support families affected by Covid-19

After losing her husband in the severe second Covid-19 wave, 87-year-old Usha Gupta bounced back with a renewed purpose to life. She started selling homemade pickles and chutneys to support families affected by Covid-19.
Like many others, the severe second Covid-19 wave became a cause of sorrow and pain for 87-year-old Usha Gupta. She and her husband, Rajkumar, contracted the virus and were admitted to Batra Hospital in Delhi. However, after 27 days of struggle, Usha's husband passed away, ending their journey of six decades together. In the hospital, Usha saw the helplessness the patients and their families were facing. Her own husband suffered from lack of oxygen twice and unfortunately, the second time, he could not survive.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
