IndiGo sees multiple cancellations from Istanbul

IndiGo arranges alternative flights for passengers stranded in Istanbul due to Boeing 777 technical glitch.
IndiGo will operate two narrow-body planes to Istanbul to ferry passengers to New Delhi from Turkey after its 500-seater Boeing 777 aircraft developed a technical glitch resulting in cancellations.
“Alternative aircraft have been arranged to transport passengers to their destination,” the airline said on Friday.

This is the second cancellation the airline has witnessed this week from Turkey as a Boeing 777 it has leased from Turkish Airlines remains grounded in Istanbul. The airline has two of these aircraft used to fly between Delhi and Istanbul and Mumbai and Istanbul.
Passengers have been taking to social media to complain about the cancellations.
“From past 35 hours there are more than 500 people waiting for flight in Istanbul airport,but still they are not able to board us on flight even after paying lakhs to travel . They are not even providing accommodation and food,” a @koushikbhuma posted on X.
IndiGo officials said that some passengers impacted by the cancellation on December 12 were brought back to their destinations the following day, while arrangements for the remaining were being made. The person said that hotel accommodation inside and outside the hotel, as well as lounge access and food vouchers, were arranged for the guests.
