IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers resigns amid flight cancellations; managing director Rahul Bhatia to oversee operations temporarily.
IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers has stepped down on Tuesday (March 10, 2026) from his role three months after the airline was hit by network-wide flight disruptions.
The airline’s promoter Rahul Bhatia will assume the management of the airline in the interim, according to a press statement.
A copy of the resignation letter available on the stock exchanges read, “as per our conversation, due to personal reasons, I herewith submit my resignation from the position of CEO of IndiGo with effect from today. I would request that notice period may be waived off.”
IndiGo saw over 5,000 flights cancelled in November and December leading to six lakh passengers being affected.
