India vs Australia: Umesh Yadav added to India squad for 3-match T20I series against Australia

The BCCI have announced that Umesh Yadav has been been added in the India's squad against Australia after Mohammed Shami was ruled out from the series.
Pacer Umesh Yadav has been added to India squad for the three-match T20I series against Australia after veteran fast bowler Mohammad Shami was ruled out owing to Covid-19, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced on Sunday, 18 September.
Umesh replaced Shami after the latter tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of the series, which begins on September 20 in Mohali.

The news comes as a setback for India who would have hoped to try out all of their pacers in the lead up to the T20 World Cup, set to be played just below a month's time. Shami, despite not being a part of the T20I squads throughout the year was picked as reserve player for the World Cup. India would have hoped to test his skills against the world champions, however, at the moment, it does not look possible.
On the other hand, the BCCI informed that India A pacer Navdeep Saini has been ruled out of the ongoing Duleep Trophy and the one-day series vs New Zealand A.
