India Today Impact: Bombay HC pulls up govt over Covid management in rural Maharashtra

Taking note of a report by India Today on the state's handling of Covid-19 in rural pockets of Palghar, Bombay HC has directed the Maharashtra government to issue directions to collectors in this regard.

During the hearing of the plea related to Covid-19 management in Maharashtra, Bombay High Court today referred to a report on India Today TV and asked the state authorities to issue directions to district collectors to manage the situation more effectively. The bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice Girish Kulkarni said, “One Pankaj Upadhyay from India Today reported from Palghar. No beds, no facilities, patients are lying on the floor. We have taken stock of the situation in the MMR region, now we are moving to rural areas."
