India reports over 2.47 lakh fresh Covid cases, 27.1% higher than yesterday

India reported 2,47,417 new Covid-19 infections and 481 fatalities in the last 24 hours, according to data shared by the Union Health Ministry.

India reported 2,47,417 new Covid-19 infections on Thursday, 27.1 per cent higher than yesterday, according to data shared by the Union Health Ministry.

This brings the country’s cumulative caseload to 3,63,17,927. Of this, 5,488 cases were of the highly transmissible Omicron variant of coronavirus.
