India reported 62,224 new Covid-19 cases and 2,542 deaths in the last 24 hours. With fresh cases, the overall positive caseload in the country has mounted to 2,96,33,105, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Wednesday.

India registered 62,224 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the overall positive cases tally in the country to 2,96,33,105, according to the data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday morning. The top five states which registered the maximum coronavirus cases are Kerala with 12,246 cases, followed by Tamil Nadu with 11,805 cases, Maharashtra with 7,652 cases, Andhra Pradesh with 5,741 cases and Karnataka with 5,041 cases. As many as 68.28 per cent of the new Covid-19 cases are reported from these five states, with Kerala alone responsible for 19.68 per cent of the new cases.
