India registered 13,451 fresh Covid-19 cases and 585 deaths due to the infection in the last 24 hours.
India registered 13,451 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, 8.2 per cent higher than that reported yesterday. With the fresh cases, the country's overall tally has mounted 3,42,15,653, according to the data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday morning.
The top five states which have registered the maximum number of Covid-19 cases are Kerala with 7,163 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 1,201 cases, Tamil Nadu with 1,090 cases, West Bengal with 806 cases and Mizoram with 740 cases.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
