
India and Maldives exchange USD 100 million agreement for key infrastructure projects

The Indian and Maldivian governments exchanged agreements for USD 100 million Line of Credit on Sunday for key infrastructure projects.
An agreement was exchanged between the government of Maldives and the Indian government to extend USD 100 million Line of Credit. The agreement was exchanged by Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer on behalf of the government of Maldives and General Manager of EXIM Bank of India, Nirmit Ved, in a special ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday.

The purpose of this agreement is to ease and facilitate the numerous ongoing key infrastructure projects in the Maldives. The agreement exchanged today is a testament to the unwavering support and commitment of the Government of India in improving the socioeconomic wellbeing and public welfare of Maldives.
India hands over vessel to support Maldives Correctional Service
Vessel procured with the financial support of the Indian government was handed over to the Maldives Correctional Service in a ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday. The symbolic token was received by Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Mohamed Fulhu from the High Commissioner of India, Munu Mahawar.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
