A student of a prominent higher secondary school in Ernakulam in Kerala recently finished five “very useful” sessions on peer education training as part of a National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction. The one-hour long online sessions, he says, aided his understanding of the deleterious effects of drug abuse on the mind and the body. More importantly, he learnt how to look out for signs of drug abuse among fellow students, listen to them and motivate them to seek help. Rather than expose their secret, the attempt is to help them get support, says the peer educator volunteer.More Related News
