
IMD predicts very heavy rain in parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry over next 5 days

The IMD has predicted very heavy rainfall in parts of Tamil and Puducherry over the next five days and heavy rains in parts of Andhra Pradesh on November 27 and November 28.
The IMD's regional meteorological centre in Chennai has predicted isolated very heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry over the next five days. A low-pressure area is likely to form under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal, the IMD said in its forecast on Wednesday.
In Tamil Nadu, heavy to very heavy rains are likely in some areas in Ramanathapuram and Nagapattinam districts over the next 24 hours. Heavy rains are also likely in Madurai, Theni, Sivaganga, Kanyakumari, Puthukottai, Tenkasi and Cauvery delta districts of Tamil Nadu, besides Karaikal in Puducherry on Wednesday and Thursday.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
