
IIT Palakkad holds student entrepreneurship development programme

IIT Palakkad's three-day entrepreneurship program nurtured innovation and start-up readiness among 40 students from 22 institutions.
The Technology Innovation Hub (TECHIN) of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Palakkad held a three-day student entrepreneurship development programme (EDP) last week. IIT organised the programme with the objective of nurturing innovation, entrepreneurial thinking, and start-up readiness among students.
Forty students representing 22 institutions from various regions took part in the programme, displaying enthusiasm for innovation and entrepreneurship.
IIT Palakkad Director A. Seshadri Sekhar inaugurated the programme. Jayon Implants managing director Jayasankar T.C., dean of Industry Collaboration and Sponsored Research (ICSR) at IIT Palakkad Arvind Ajoy, ICSR associate dean Vivek Chaturvedi, and TECHIN chief operating officer Midhu Unnithan spoke.
The participants engaged in a series of interactive sessions, workshops, and hands-on learning activities focussed on key aspects of entrepreneurship and professional career development.
The sessions covered areas such as business model development, idea validation and prototyping, start-up financing, company registration processes and capacity building.
The programme also emphasised design thinking and structured problem-solving approaches to enable students to develop scalable solutions.
