BJP leader Kirit Somaiya on Monday said former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh should be sacked if his allegations are false but if it's true then Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh should resign.
BJP leader Kirit Somaiya on Monday said former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh should be dismissed if his allegations are false but if it's true then Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh should resign. Earlier, Param Bir Singh wrote a letter to Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray alleging that Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh had asked suspended Mumbai Police officer Sachin Vaze, embroiled in the Ambani bomb scare case, to collect Rs 100 crore for him every month. Responding to Param Bir Singh's allegations, Anil Deshmukh said he will wile file defamation case against the ex-police commissioner for "false" allegations. Reacting to this, Kirit Somaiya said,"Home Minister Deshmukh says he will file a defamation case against Singh for accusing him of corruption. Instead he should fire Singh".
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
