IED found on Srinagar-Baramulla highway defused, traffic restored

The traffic on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway was restored after an IED found on the highway was defused by the Indian Army and J&K Police.

The Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, on Saturday, June 11, defused an IED found on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway near Bulgam.

A suspicious object was found on the highway near Timepass hotel in the Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Soon, police and 52 RR battalion of the Indian Army rushed to the spot and subsequently called a bomb disposal squad. The IED planted by terrorists on the highway was defused.

The traffic that was suspended in the area as a precautionary measure has been restored.
