Idol inside church in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore vandalised by miscreants

A man was trying to break the idol of St Sebastian inside the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore. The miscreants fled after they heard the security guard shout at them.
The idol of St Sebastian inside the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore was vandalised by miscreants on Sunday night, January 23.
Johnson, who works as a security guard in the church, said that around 10 pm on Sunday night, he heard a noise like the shattering of glass.
When he went to check, Johnson saw a man trying to break the St Sebastian idol. As Johnson began to shout, the perpetrator escaped on a motorbike with another person.
Based on the complaint of Bastin Joseph, a priest from the Cathedral, police have filed a case under section 295, 427 and 448 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Further investigation is underway.
