IAF veteran recalls 29-year-old evacuation mission in Afghanistan

As India and many other nations attempt to evacuate their citizens from Afghanistan after the Taliban's takeover, an Indian Air Force veteran recalled an evacuation mission that he had led in the country in 1992.
Recently, the Indian government evacuated embassy officials and several others from Kabul in Afghanistan after the Taliban took effective control of the country. While India and many other nations are attempting to evacuate their remaining citizens, an Indian Air Force (IAF) veteran recalled a similar situation when he was sent for evacuation to Afghanistan in 1992. Squadron Leader Rajesh Kumar (Retired) recounted the time when he and a few other officers flew to Afghanistan and managed to evacuate the then Indian Ambassador to the country, along with embassy officials and diplomats of several other Asian countries.More Related News
