
Hyderabad techie’s body set ablaze; wife’s relative among 3 in custody as police probe honour killing angle

Narayana Reddy, a techie from Hyderabad, who had gone missing on June 29, was killed and his body was burnt in Sanga Reddy district. Three people, including his wife’s relative, are in custody, and police are also probing if it was an honour killing by the wife’s family.
The burnt and decomposed corpse of 25-year-old Narayana Reddy, a techie from Hyderabad, was recovered by Telangana Police from Jinnaram forest of the neighbouring Sanga Reddy district on Sunday, July 3. Police officials have taken three people into custody in connection with this incident.
Police suspect that his estranged in-laws, who did not approve of their daughter marrying him, were also involved in the crime. Narayana had married their daughter, Sakshi, a year ago.
His wife’s parents had reportedly tried to separate them recently by taking her away to their house. According to media reports, they were upset that the couple continued to meet and talk even after they were forced to separate. According to police, the family had hatched a plan to kill him.
According to a report by The Times of India, one of the detained men is related to the victim’s wife.
The deceased, Narayana Reddy, had gone missing on June 29. Police began hunting for him after one of his relatives filed a complaint on June 30. After analyzing the victim’s call records, police locked down the suspects, who, upon being questioned, confessed to the murder.
Police recovered the victim’s corpse on Sunday and found that it was 80% burnt and in a decomposed state. Based on this evidence, police officials concluded that he was killed and set on fire soon after he went missing.
Police said that on June 29, the victim was called to have a liquor drinking session at the house of one of his wife’s relatives.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
