A convoy of 14 vehicles, carrying around 120 people -- Indian nationals, journalists, diplomats, embassy staffers and security personnel -- left the Indian embassy in Kabul for Hamid Karzai International Airport in the wee hours of Tuesday. With commercial flights halted, India had no other option but to send Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft to bring back the last batch of diplomats and staff from the mission.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
