Home for senior citizens to come up in Palani

M.K. Stalin lays foundation for senior citizens home at Sri Dhandayuthapani Swamy Temple in Palani, Dindigul district.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday laid the foundation for the construction of a senior citizens home of Sri Dhandayuthapani Swamy Temple in Palani in Dindigul district via video conference.
The foundation was laid in the presence of Dindigul MP R. Sachithanantham, Collector S. Saravanan, Palani MLA I.P. Senthilkumar and officials. The home for senior citizens will be built at an estimated cost of ₹8.48 crore. It will have 25 rooms with bathroom and toilet facilities, dining hall, a hall to seat 130 people, park with walkway, kitchen, reception, visitors’ room, storeroom, library and dispensary.
Speaking on the occasion, Collector Saravanan said that schools, colleges, homes for boys and girls and training institutes of Sri Dhandayuthapani Swamy Temple were already functioning in Palani. Additional infrastructure facilities and schemes were being implemented at the temple for the benefit of devotees.
In another release, the Collector said that an Ex-Servicemen’s Centre and Rest House in Moonjikal had been inaugurated in Kodaikanal.
