
‘Have a mindset of equality': Tripura CM to Bengal CM

Tripura's Chief Minister told Trinamool Congress and the state's Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee to "have a mindset of equality".
Tripura’s Chief Minister Biplab Deb slammed Trinamool Congress(TMC) and West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during a campaign rally and asked the party to “have a mindset of equality.” Deb was in West Bengal’s Asanol city campaigning for BJP candidate Agnimitra Paul.
He said that prime minister Narendra Modi treats every state equally and urged the TMC to not dismiss Tripura as a small state.

Asansol goes to polls on April 12 for the Asansol Lok Sabha seat after former MP, Babul Supriyo left the seat after leaving the BJP. Agnimitra Paul, BJP MLA of Asansol South is going up against Shatrughan Sinha, who is fighting on a TMC ticket.
The TMC attempted to take on the BJP in the November civic polls in TRipura. However, they won only one seat in Ambasa municipality. After winning the seat, the elected corporator joined BJP.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
