India Today
The Sultanpur National Park opened after a gap of around 19 months and birders have spotted 65 species of migratory birds at the park.
After remaining shut for almost 19 months due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Sultanpur National Park has opened to visitors for the first time this year. Several migratory bird species are coming to Sultanpur Park with the imminent arrival of winter, which is a major centre of attraction.
According to a report published in the Times of India (TOI), birders have spotted 65 species of migratory birds at the park and, at present, it has 25 resident bird species. The experts were quoted by TOI as saying that the migratory species, which are coming to the park, are water birds owing to the extended monsoon this year. Birders have spotted bar-headed and greylag geese, green-winged teal and northern pintail.
