
Gurugram: 60-year-old dies after e-scooter battery explodes, causes fire

An elderly man died and four others from his family sustained injuries after the battery of their electric two-wheeler exploded during charging and caused fire in Gurugram.
A 60-year-old man died and his four other family members sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out in their room in Sector 44, Gurugram after the battery of an electric-two wheeler exploded on Thursday night. Police said that the e-battery of the two-wheeler exploded while it was on charging.
The reason behind the explosion is yet to be ascertained and two victims are severely critical. The incident happened around 11 pm when Suresh Sahu, his wife Reena and three children, Manoj, Saroj and Anuj were sleeping in their small room in Kanhai village. Sahu, who suffered 70 per cent of burn injuries, died on the spot.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
