According to the state government, the decision was taken in a core committee meeting in Gandhinagar on Monday chaired by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. The BJP leader has assigned the responsibility of this task to district collectors and city municipal commissioners.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
