Gujarat: Nanny seen assaulting 8-month-old in chilling video, child admitted to ICU

A CCTV camera captured a caretaker brutally assaulting an 8-month-old in Gujarat. The child is currently battling for his life at a private hospital in Surat.
In a horrific incident, an 8-month-old baby was mercilessly thrashed by his caretaker in Gujarat’s Surat district. The child is currently admitted in ICU at a private hospital after suffering from brain hemorrhage due to the assault.
The family lives in Rander Palanpur Patiya in Surat. The child’s parents are both employed and had hired a caretaker to look after their kids.
However, the couple installed a CCTV camera in their house after their neighbours informed them about their children crying in their absence.
The camera captured the blood-chilling scene of the caretaker brutally thrashing the child. In the video, she is seen repeatedly bashing the child’s head against the bed. She is also seen twisting his hair and slapping him mercilessly.
Following the incident, the parents lodged a complaint with the police and the woman was taken into custody.

Talking to India Today, the infant’s grandmother, Kalaben Patel, said that the accused, Komal Chandlekar, was hired three months back. Komal used to take care of the kids well in the beginning. However, suspicion arose after the children continued to cry while under her care. The parents then installed a CCTV camera and the horrific matter came to light.
