Jignesh Mevani will reach Amir village in Gujarat’s Rapar on November 2 and enter a temple with the Dalit families there. He has raised questions on why the government only acts after an attack and fails to protect the rights of Dalits.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
