Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has said that the central government has accepted the demand of farmers' organisations to decriminalise stubble burning.
The Centre has agreed to the demand of farmers' organisations to decriminalise stubble burning, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Saturday said.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Narendra Singh Tomar said, "Farmer organisations had demanded to decriminalise stubble burning by farmers. The Government of India has accepted this demand as well."

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
