
Gold, silver coins and ornaments found buried in a pot in Telangana field

A pot containing 19 silver coins, five gold coins and a few ornaments was found buried in a field in Telangana’s Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district.
A farmer in Telangana’s Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district discovered a pot filled with gold and silver coins and a few ornaments in the field. A dispute broke out between him and his brother over dividing it, and eventually revenue department officials seized the pot.The existence of the treasure only came to light after the dispute between the brothers.According to reports, farmer Kannaboina Mallaiah was repairing the bund of the agricultural field when he noticed a pot. When he dug it out and opened it, he found 19 silver, five gold coins and a few ornaments. The coins had an Urdu inscription.However, Mallaiah’s brother Lingaiah learnt about the treasure, so he started a division of the property.The dispute reached the village elders. Soon, police learnt about it and revenue officials seized the valuables.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
