Godman Kalicharan Maharaj, who was arrested on Thursday morning for foul remarks against Mahatma Gandhi, has been slapped with sedition charges.
Godman Kalicharan Maharaj has been charged with sedition after he was arrested on Thursday morning for derogatory remarks against Mahatma Gandhi at a Dharam Sansad.
SP Raipur Prashant Agarwal said, "Kalicharan Maharaj was staying in a rented accommodation near Bageshwar Dham, 25 km from Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh. Raipur Police arrested him at 4 am today. By late evening, the police team will reach Raipur with the accused."

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
