
Goa govt extends Covid-19 curfew till July 19; gyms allowed to open at 50% capacity

The Goa government has extended the coronavirus-induced lockdown in the state for another week, but has allowed gyms to operate with 50 per cent capacity.
The Goa government on Sunday extended the statewide curfew till 7am on July 19. The government has, however, announced further relaxations and has allowed gymnasiums to reopen with 50 per cent capacity. The State Level Curfew Order will be extended upto 7am, 19 July 2021, with further relaxations that will allow opening of gym with 50% capacity, sports complex without spectators, religious places with upto 15 persons. Sports complex have been allowed to open without spectators, while maximum number of people at religious places has been capped at 15.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
