Go out and give credit: Nirmala Sitharaman tells banks to step up loan disbursal efforts

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has asked state-run banks to start credit outreach programmes from October.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has asked state-run banks to step up loan disbursal operations in a bid to increase credit flow. She was speaking at the launch of the EASE 4.0 banking reforms in Mumbai. Sitharaman informed that she has asked banks to hold outreach programmes across the country from October to provide more momentum to economic recovery. These credit outreach programmes were first started in 2019.
