Champion, 64, returned to work this week after taking a few days off for an 'urgent' heart procedure.
"Good Morning America's" Sam Champion reassured fans he was on the road to recovery after undergoing a heart procedure earlier this week.
Champion, 64, returned to the morning talk show on Wednesday, March 25, after taking a few days off for an urgent heart procedure. During Wednesday's show, he told viewers that he had "a little bit of a heart scare over the weekend."
Champion, 64, drew concern after he posted from a hospital bed on Monday, March 23, saying he had undergone a nuclear stress test that "found some things that needed to be taken care of."
"So today I went into the cardiac catheterization laboratory….. and we took care of it. Thanks to these procedures. I am well and expected to make a full recovery," he said, tagging the Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital in New York City.
In another post on Tuesday, March 24, the weatherman told viewers he would be back at work on Wednesday and planned to share more about heart health.
