Nandiwada police arrest gang stealing aqua pond motors in Gudivada division, Krishna district, recovering 34 motors worth ₹3.16 lakh.
The Nandiwada police arrested a three-member gang involved in stealing electric motors fixed at aqua ponds in the villages of Gudivada division in Krishna district.
The team led by Gudivada Rural Circle Inspector (CI) S.L.R. Someswara Rao and Nandiwada SI K. Srinivas nabbed the gang. Police recovered 34 motors, worth about ₹3.16 lakh, a car and a bike from the gang.
“The arrested include, G. Sashi Kumar, D. Rambabu and G. Shyam Praveen Kumar and an iron scrap dealer Asmatullah Baih, who bought the stolen motors from the accused,” the CI said.
“The accused stole the motors fixed at the fish ponds in Puttagunta, Janardhanapuram, Ariparala and Peddalingala villages,” Mr. Someswara Rao told The Hindu on Sunday (december 1, 2024).
“One of the gang members will disconnect power supply and put the motor in a car arranged near the ponds, while one thief will act as a driver to the car and another person will lead the car in the front on his bike, and the trio will hand over the motors to the iron scrap dealer,” the CI explained.
