"In the Hindu culture, we can cleanse the environment by performing havan. It has also been proven. In Belgaum South, women and youth are performing havan in front of their homes. It is taking place at 50 places. Ghee, coconut and rice are being used," Belgaum South MLA Abhay Patil said. Abhay Patil carried out the 'Agnihotra homa' procession along with several other people who were seen flouting social distancing norms. A video of the event went viral on social media wherein some people can be seen wearing masks and face shields, but flouting social distancing protocol.
