From begging on the street at the age of 15 to being sexually abused, Padma Shi awardee Manjamma Jogathi, a Karnataka transgender dancer, had an arduous journey fraught with several challenges.

Karnataka transgender dancer Manjamma Jogathi was conferred with the Padma Shri award for her contribution to folk dance by President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday.
