Fox Nation host Tom Shillue praised Martha Stewart for being the new face of American Eagle’s latest holiday campaign following controversy surrounding their previous ads, but blasted the lifestyle guru for aligning herself with Democrats in the past.
“She is a legend. She is incredible at marketing. She is a survivor, but could she please give up the Democrat Party? I mean, this is the one thing. It sticks in my craw with her,” Shillue said Wednesday on Fox News’ “Outnumbered.”
American Eagle launched its latest holiday campaign starring the 84-year-old Stewart this week following the backlash over their previous campaign starring “Christy” actress Sydney Sweeney, which drew backlash after critics said it had racist undertones and promoted eugenics.
“Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color,” Sweeney says in the ad. “My jeans are blue.”
Sweeney, who is a registered Republican voter, garnered support from the right, including President Donald Trump, which she said was “surreal.”
The president's holiday-like fantasy is getting roasted by critics.
