Four RSS, BJP workers were arrested by Kerala police for their involvement in the murder of a CPIM worker in Kannur.
Kerala Police has arrested four Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and BJP workers for their involvement in the murder of a CPIM worker in Kannur.
According to police, political rivalry was the motive behind the murder. Haridas, a fisherman and CPIM worker, was murdered by a gang on Monday, February 21 in Thalassery.
Haridas was attacked by a group who arrived on two bikes. His brother, who tried to stop the attack, was injured and was hospitalised.

A rift between CPIM and RSS workers over a local temple festival allegedly led to the attack and murder.
The CPIM leadership had alleged that the RSS was involved in the murder. CPIM leader MV Jayarajan alleged that this was not the only gruesome act that was a result of the ongoing clash. He said that provocative speeches were made before the incidents leading up to the murder.
Further probe into the matter is underway.
