Former Assam Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Dr Bhumidhar Barman passed away on Sunday after a prolonged illness.

He had been on ventilation in the hospital ICU for the past several days. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal expressed condolences on the death of the veteran Congress leader.
