Members of para-military force, deputed for election duty, took part in the flag march organised by the Thanjavur District Police at Thanjavur on March 11.
According to official sources, a total of 65 personnel from the Border Security Force were deputed to Thanjavur by the Election Commission of India to assist the Thanjavur District Police in bandobust duties during the forthcoming Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections.
They formed part of the flag march organised by the District Police from Thanjavur Railway Junction to the Thanjavur Palace Complex at the heart of the town. The march was flagged off by Superintendent of Police R. Rajaram and senior police officials took part in the flag march, sources said.
