Tragic road accident claims lives of five family members, including three children, in Yadgir district.
In a heart-wrenching road accident, five members of a family, including three children, died near Tinthini Cross in Shorapur taluk of Yadgir district on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as 38-year-old Anjaneya, his 32-year-old wife Gangamma and their 18-month-old son Hanumanth and Gangamma’s brother’s children six-year-old Pavitra and five-year-old Rayappa.
Anjaneya, Pavitra and Rayappa died on the spot, while Gangamma and Hanumanth died on their way to hospital.
According to police sources, the man and his wife were travelling with the children on their motorcycle from Hallisagar village in Shahapur taluk to Gurgunta village in Lingsugur taluk to take part in the annual village fair.
The accident happened when the motorcycle in which the deceased were travelling collided with a government-owned bus coming from the opposite direction from Kudligi and heading towards Chincholi.
After hearing information, Superintendent of Police Pruthvik Shankar, Additional Superintendent of Police Dharaneesh, Deputy Superintendent of Police Javeed Inamdar and Police Inspector Anand Waghmode rushed to the spot and carried out an investigation.
A case has been registered in the Shorapur Police Station.
