Fire scorches thousands of acres in Michigan, forces evacuations

Thousands of acres in northeastern Michigan have been scorched by fire after the US Forest Service failed to contain an attempted controlled burn on Friday.
About 100 people have been forced to flee their homes in Iosco County, near the Huron-Manistee National Forests, while some 6,000 acres of land have been burned, according to reports. “We’re working really hard on our side to catch it and get it suppressed,” said Joshua Veal, the public affairs officer for the forests.More Related News
