
Fire breaks out at UP advocate general's office in Prayagraj; Army called in

A fire incident was reported at the office of Uttar Pradesh's advocate general in Prayagraj. CM Yogi Adityanath has ordered a probe into the incident.
A massive fire broke out at the advocate general's office in front of the Allahabad High Court in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj. At least 15 fire tenders were present at the spot and the district administration had to seek the Army's help to douse the fire.
The fire incident was reported at 5.30 am on Sunday. According to the police, the fire was first reported on the fifth floor of the building, following which it spread to other floors. The police said that the fire had been completely doused on the fifth, sixth and seventh floors.
According to Prayagraj District Magistrate Sanjay Khatri, fire tender vehicles of the Army and airport have also been called to extinguish the fire.
So far, no reasons behind the breakout of the fire are known, the DM said.
While no one was seriously injured in the incident, some firefighters sustained minor injuries while breaking the glass and dousing the fire. They were sent to the hospital for further check-up, the DM said.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took strong cognisance of the incident and issued instructions to constitute a committee to probe the reasons behind the fire.
According to PTI, a committee consisting of the Superintendent of Police (city), Additional District Magistrate, Chief Fire Office, Additional LR Prayagraj and Deputy Director Electrical Safety has been constituted following the CM's orders.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
