
Fare reduced on Nagapattinam–Kankesanthurai ferry; second vessel set to launch soon

Subham Ferry Services offers reduced fares, increased luggage allowance, and new tour packages for Nagapattinam–Kankesanthurai ferry route.
Passengers travelling on Nagapattinam–Kankesanthurai ferry route can now avail a reduced round-trip fare of ₹8,000, down from ₹8,500, for the summer season, Subham Ferry Services, a subsidiary of Subham Group, announced in a press statement.
The company also plans to introduce a second ferry on the route next month to meet increasing demand. The new vessel, with a seating capacity of 250 passengers, is currently in the final stages of certification. “We are delighted to announce these developments as we continue working closely with tourism stakeholders to improve connectivity and convenience for our passengers,” said Sundararaj Ponnusamy, Chairman and Managing Director of Subham Group, speaking to The Hindu.
The free luggage allowance has also been increased from 10 kg to 22 kg — comprising 15 kg of checked baggage and 7 kg of hand baggage. New tour packages starting at ₹15,000 have been introduced, featuring destinations such as Thalaimannar, Trincomalee, and the Ramayana Trail in Sri Lanka.
