Health minister inaugurates new facilities at Government Dental College, inspects upcoming buildings and state-of-the-art dentistry facilities.
Health minister Ma. Subramanian commissioned several facilities, developed at a cost of ₹38 lakh, at the Government Dental College here on Wednesday. He also inspected the new buildings coming up at a cost of ₹128.99 crore. The Government Dental Hospital has purchased an electric vehicle through CSR funds from the State Bank of India. Work is on to establish a reverse osmosis plant for drinking water at a cost of ₹11 lakh. An indoor sports centre worth ₹19.28 lakh, has also been established. The Minister also inspected the construction of state-of-the-art facilities for dentistry. Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments P.K. Sekar Babu, besides senior officials of the health department, accompanied him.

After mandating pet dog licensing and microchipping, Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) bids to do the same for cattle to curb stray cattle issues and man-animal conflicts in the streets. The civic body has moved to make it compulsory for cattle owners to obtain licenses for their animals across all zones.
