
Facebook fuelling hate speech: Congress writes to Mark Zuckerberg seeking internal enquiry

The Congress, in a letter to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg sought an internal enquiry into the “apparent and evident” bias of Facebook towards the ruling dispensation despite their proclivity for sharing hate speech, misinformation, fake news and inflammatory content' on the social media platform.
The Congress on Friday wrote to Facebook chief executive officer (CEO) Mark Zuckerberg saying the company has been biased in India 'towards the ruling dispensation despite their proclivity for sharing hate speech, misinformation, fake news and inflammatory content' on the social media platform.
In his letter to Mark Zuckerberg, Congress’s social media in charge Rohan Gupta said that in the last two years, an abundance of evidence had been released that point to the negligence by the company in controlling hate speech.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
