Agra BJP MLA Purushottam Khandelwal recalled Kalyan Singh exploring the city on a scooter every time he visited.
Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh, who passed away on Saturday night, shared a strong bond with Agra. When Kalyan Singh was elected BJP state president in 1987, he travelled throughout UP before arriving in Agra to host the party's national convention. He stayed in Agra for two months, and his efforts yielded an extremely successful convention. Speaking to India Today, Rajya Sabha MP Haridwar Dubey said, “Kalyan Singh was instrumental in establishing a strong foundation for the BJP in Uttar Pradesh. The convention was successfully organised in April 1988 at the Kothi Meena Bazar ground under the supervision of Kalyan Singh.”More Related News
