Exclusive: Afghan commander recalls Danish Siddiqui's last moments

Speaking to India Today, an Afghan commander said the Taliban insurgents first shot Indian journalist Danish Siddiqui during clash with Afghanistan forces in Spin Boldak and later disrespected and mutilated his body when they learnt about his Indian identity.
Indian journalist Danish Siddiqui was killed last week while covering a clash between Afghan security forces and Taliban fighters near a border crossing with Pakistan. The Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist was embedded with Afghanistan forces at the time of his death. Following his killing, officials said Danish Siddiqui and a senior Afghan officer were killed in what they described as Taliban crossfire. The official death certificate issued by the Embassy of India in Kabul, Afghanistan also noted multiple gunshot wounds as the cause of the photojournalist's death.More Related News
