
Ex-Maharashtra Revenue Minister Eknath Khadse's son-in-law sent to ED custody till July 19

Eknath Khadse's son-in-law Girish Chaudhari was remanded to further custody of the ED till July 19 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) by a special court in Mumbai on Thursday.
A special court in Mumbai on Thursday remanded former Maharashtra Revenue Minister Eknath Khadse's son-in-law Girish Chaudhari to further custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) till July 19 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Chaudhari has been in the ED's custody since July 6, when he was arrested. Advocate Kavita Patil, appearing for the agency, sought an extension of Chaudhari's custody on the ground that further investigation was needed.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
