Ex-GOP Strategist Warns How A Lara Trump Run Could Backfire Badly On Republicans

Stuart Stevens made a damning prediction about Donald Trump's daughter-in-law.
Lara Trump is reportedly in the mix to run for the Senate seat that will be vacated by retiring Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.).
But former GOP strategist Stuart Stevens doesn’t hold out much hope for President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law actually winning an election and entering Congress.
“I think she’d be a disaster for Republicans,” Stevens, the chief strategist of Mitt Romney’s unsuccessful 2012 presidential campaign, told MSNBC’s Chris Jansing on Monday.
Lara Trump, the wife of Trump scion Eric and currently a host on Fox News, would likely “win the primary,” but “she’d probably be the worst candidate that they could field,” he said.
“This has been a very tightly contested state,” he explained. “It’s one of the states that Romney won and that [former President Barack] Obama had won before. I don’t think there’s anything that’s going on now inside the Trump world that he’s delivering that makes him more popular in North Carolina.”
